Aaron Morris

Position : Defender

Aaron is a 21-year-old student, who joined Runcorn Linnets as a central defender for the start of the 2016-17 season.

He had caught the eye playing in the North West Counties League's Division One for St Helens Town and was one of the first raft of new signings as former manager Joey Dunn set about replenishing a squad heavily depleted by summer departures.

Aaron, a Manchester United fan, featured strongly in the club's pre-season programme but was successfully switched from defence to midfield in the warm-up victory at Middlewich.

This prompted manager Michael Ellison to name Aaron in the more advanced position for his competitive debut. in the FA Cup tie at Hemsworth Miners Welfare and he turned in another excellent display - his marauding runs in support of the front players causing problems for the home club's defence.

Aaron reverted to defence as the season began to unfold, his adaptability proving more than handy in helping 'Ello' to juggle with a changing squad.

Aaron went the whole of his first season as "ever present" in the team, and was justifiably rewarded by scooping the Player Of The Season, Player's Player Of The Season and Young Linnets Player Of The Season awards for 2016-17

Runcorn Linnets would like to thank AJs Disco - The Party Experts who has kindly sponsored Aaron Morris. Why not visit their website at http://www.facebook.com/AJsDiscoThePartyExperts.
