Position : Defender
Dan joined Runcorn Linnets from Cammell Laird 1907 ahead of the 2016-17 season and has brought stability to the midfield.
Quick to impress in his new surroundings, Dan is happy to cover the defence and keep the ball moving in a holding role but isn't shy of going for goal when getting into advanced positions.
The now 30-year-old was at Southport as a teenager, making two appearances as a substitute in the 2004-05 season, scoring a goal in their Lancashire Junior Cup quarter final against Burscough.
He later joined Lairds for his first of two spells with the Birkenhead club before following Tony Sullivan to Witton Albion in October 2014 as his former manager's first signing at Wincham Park. His debut came in an NPL Premier Division game at leaders Skelmersdale United.
Outside of football, Dan is employed as a gym instructor.
Runcorn Linnets would like to thank Arthur & Sheila Thompson who has kindly sponsored Danny O'Brien.
