Kyle Hamid

Position : Midfield

A big favourite of Linnets fans, Kyle is one of the top midfield players - in fact, among the best in any position - in The Hallmark Security League so it is a major boost for new boss Michael Ellison to have him around after the turmoil of the 2016 close season.

Skillful and competitive with an eye for goal either from set-pieces or open play, he was also the natural choice when Ello came to selecting his own successor skipper and with Kyle being such an inspirational figure within the club, his appointment went down extremely well.

After missing the first three games of the 2016-17 season, Kyle had a galvanising effect on a new-look side on his return and scored a hat-trick, including a spectacular opener and two penalties taken under pressure, in a 3-3 draw at Canmell Laird 1907. The three-goal haul included the 1,000th goal in the Linnets 10-year history.

Kyle then promptly led the team to its first win of the campaign in our fifth league outing, in-form visitors Irlam being beaten 4-1 at The Millbank Linnets Stadium.

Kyle joined Runcorn Linnets FC in December 2012 having previously spent 18 months playing for our then manager Joey Dunn at Warrington Town.

He has starred in the League of Wales and in the Northern Premier League for Marine and Skelmersdale United. His previous clubs also include Runcorn Town, who he joined in 2010.

Runcorn Linnets would like to thank Tony Jones who has kindly sponsored Kyle Hamid.
