Michael Simpson

Position : Midfield

Michael returned to the Millbank Linnets Stadium in December 2016. He had first signed for the Linnets in September 2012 and again in July 2015.

His first two spells with Runcorn Linnets saw him make a total of 96 appearances with nine goals.

A ione-time Academy player at Football League club Bury, Simpson played in the Northern Premier League with Skelmersdale United for two years before initially joining the Linnets. He went back to Skem in August 2014 but stayed for just one season.

Returning for his third stint with the Linnets five days before Christmas 2016, Simmo had spent the first half of the 2016-17 campaign in the Evo-Stik League at Prescot Cables.

Someone who possesses a terrific 'engine', Simmo offers versatility as well as energy. He is equally comfortable and effective at right back or in central midfield.

He was a member of the Linnets team which won the NWCL Challenge Cup in May 2013.

Runcorn Linnets would like to thank The Bar Staff who has kindly sponsored Michael Simpson.
