Jamie Rainford

Position : Forward

Signed in the 2p19-20 close season, Jamie is a well-travelled, successful Northern Premier League performer. He has scored regularly where ever his career has taken him.

Last season saw him finish joint second in the West Division charts with 22 goals, including one penalty, in spells with Widnes, Clitheroe and Ramsbottom.

Jamie made his EVO-STIK debut for Rammy as we won 3-2 at The Harry Williams Riverside Stadium on December 1st 2018 and hit their winner at the Millbank Linnets Stadium on March 30th - the 2-1 comeback victory ultimately helping the visitors to secure fifth place, the final play-off spot, ahead of us.

This was Jamie's seventh goal in six matches, earning him the Rams' Player of the Month award.

The player had ended the previous season with Colwyn Bay, having joined the Welsh club from Glossop North End in February 2017.

The now 31-year-old hit 29 goals for the Hillmen in EVO-STIK League Division One North in 2015-16.

Jamie first came to prominence with Prescot Cables, where he stayed for close to two seasons before transferring to Marine.

His career really took off at this point with the then youngster's 28 goals in 2910-11 drawing attention from Football League scouts.

His former clubs also include Chester, FC Halifax Town in Conference (now National League) North and AFC Fylde.

Runcorn Linnets would like to thank Derek Greenwood who has kindly sponsored Jamie Rainford.
