Position : Midfield
In becoming the first Runcorn Linnets captain to lift a title winners' trophy at the end of the 2017-18 season, Kyle only enhanced his reputation as one of the outstanding players to don the Yellow & Green in our still relatively short history.
A big favourite of Linnets fans, Kyle was rated one of the top midfield players - in fact, among the best in any position - in The Hallmark Security League and now he leads us into The EVO-STIK League for the first time.
He was among the few players to stay with Linnets amid the turmoil, which followed Joey Dunn's departure as boss in the 2016 season. Incoming manager Michael Ellison rebuilt the squad around Kyle.
Skillful and competitive with an eye for goal either from set-pieces or open play, Kyle was the natural choice when Ello came to selecting his own successor as skipper.
After missing the first three games of the 2016-17 season, Kyle had a galvanising effect on a new-look side on his return and scored a hat-trick at Canmell Laird 1907. This three-goal haul included the 1,000th goal scored by Runcorn Linnets.
Kyle joined us in December 2012 after 18 months at Warrington Town.
He had starred in the League of Wales and in the Northern Premier League for Marine and Skelmersdale United. His previous clubs also include Runcorn Town, who he joined in 2010.
Kyle is one of only five players to have chalked up a double century of Linnets appearances. The final game of 2017-18, which ended with him lifting The Hallmark Security League Premier Division championship trophy, was his 201st outing (these games bringing him 71 goals).
Runcorn Linnets would like to thank Tony Jones who has kindly sponsored Kyle Hamid.
