Kyle Hamid

Position : Midfield

Long-serving club captain Kyle was the first player to sign up with Runcorn Linnets for this season.

The experienced midfielder, better known at the club as Mucker, missed the second half of the 2018-19 campaign with a knee injury.

The skipper helped to get Linnets off to a flying start in our maiden EVO-STIK League campaign. His ability and leadership were missed during his long-term absence.

In 2017-18, Kyle had become the Linnets' first title-winning captain and his 231 club outings - going into 2019-20 - ranked him as second on the club's all-time list of appearance makers.

He has scored 72 goals from midfield.

Kyle is one of the standout players to have donned the Yellow & Green in our still relatively short history.

He was rated one of the top midfield players - in fact, among the best in any position - in The Hallmark Security League and he led us into The EVO-STIK League for the first time.

Kyle had been among the few players to stay with Linnets amid all the turmoil, which followed Joey Dunn's departure as boss in the 2016-17 close season.

The incoming manager Michael Ellison rebuilt the squad around Kyle.

Skillful and competitive with an eye for goal from set-pieces and open play, Kyle was the natural choice when Ello came to select his own successor as skipper.

After missing the first three games of the 2016-17 season, Kyle had a galvanising effect on a new-look side on his return and scored a hat-trick at Canmell Laird 1907.

This three-goal haul included the 1,000th goal scored by Runcorn Linnets.

Kyle joined us in December 2012 after 18 months at Warrington Town.

He had starred in the League of Wales and played in the Northern Premier League for Marine and Skelmersdale United.

His previous clubs also include Runcorn Town, who he joined in 2010.

Kyle is one of only five players to have chalked up a double century of Linnets appearances.

Runcorn Linnets would like to thank Paul Raftery who has kindly sponsored Kyle Hamid.
