Linnets in the Community
Runcorn Linnets Football Club is a Registered Society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014.

A limited company, it is as a not-for-profit business, on similar lines to a co-operative but for the benefit of the wider community rather than its members.

Our stadium and grounds provide a hub for community football with hundreds of players and supporters benefitting from the facility, which was created in 2010 on the former Halton Sports site in Murdishaw.
As well as being used by our own senior, youth and junior teams for matchplay and/or training, the hybrid stadium pitch is used as a home game venue by students from ESPFA Cheshire and is hired by a number of clubs and organisations for training.

We have also staged finals for Cheshire County FA, North West Counties League and Runcorn District FA.
As part of our commitment to the neighbourhood of Runcorn and surrounding area, our Linnets in the Community Scheme is here to work with charities, schools, community groups and local organisations.
Over the years, we have been involved in various community projects, notably an anti-knife crime campaign, while hosting Runcorn Police's Kops 'n' Kids and other school holiday play schemes.

We have laid on community events such as firework displays, beer festivals and regular fun bingo. May this year will see our grounds stage the biggest yet - the inaugural Linnets Family Festival, a two-day music extravaganza in conjunction with Runcorn-based promoters Murrells Tours & Events.
Our members and supporters have also contributed to good causes - Halton Christmas Toy Appeal, Runcorn Foodbank, Halton Haven Hospice and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to name but a few.
