03 Mar 2018 : Paul Shanley is our Millbank Player of the Month for February

Paul Shanley is a second-time winner in this season's Millbank Player of the Month awards at Runcorn Linnets after being voted our February choice.

When Shanners' name is mentioned in North West football circles, it is invariably in glowing terms.

One manager from further afield - in the highly-rated Ebac Northern League - was prompted by the winger's performance in opposition to his team earlier in the season to single him out as one of the best players he has seen at our level.

Shanley, a former Player of the Year in The Hallmark Security League prior to joining the Linnets in the summer of 2016, has consistently reproduced that high level of performance in 2017-18.

A scorer and, equally importantly, a creator of goals, he was our Player of the Month for August and has been in strong consideration for each of the subsequent awards.

February saw him return to the top of the pecking order thanks to his influential work on the left flank, posing problems time and again for opposing full backs.

He has provided vital, spectacular goals and valuable assists with the highlight in terms of overall performance coming in the home victory over 1874 Northwich.

For the eighth time this season, he walked away with the opposition's man of the match accolade.

Shanners has played more games this term than any other Linnets player and all at the club are highly appreciative of the efforts of a player whose skill is matched by his industry and competitive nature.
