13 Jun 2019 : Bobby Evans is full of promise for extended Linnets stay
Midfielder Bobby Evans has agreed terms for a second season at Runcorn Linnets as he looks to build on some accomplished performances first time around.
On joining the ranks in the summer of 2018, Bobby made an good impression with his busy and skilful work in the centre of the park.
The former AFC Liverpool player had arrived in late pre-season after seeing his efforts to win a place in Witton Albion's plans scuppered by injury.
The EVO-STIK League side's loss was very much Linnets' gain as Bobby enjoyed a run of games in a midfield hit by absenteeism through long-term injuries.
Bobby appeared 21 times in all, making 15 starts.
He chipped in with a couple of goals along the way and was one of Runcorn's spot-kick specialists, netting in penalty shootout cup-tie wins over top-flight EVO-STIK League oitfits, Warrington Town, Hyde United and Stalybridge Celtic.
Linnets manager Michael Ellison said: "I think it was a great learning curve for Bobby last season, playing his first season at this level due to our injury problems.
"He pretty much played in every position and never let us down once which I think shows how important to any squad a player like him is.
"Technically, he's top drawer and his attitude is second to none. I think it could be a big season for Bobby this year and I'm delighted to have him on board again."
