16 Aug 2019 : Goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant joins Runcorn Linnets on loan from Tranmere Rovers
Runcorn Linnets have agreed a deal to sign Tranmere Rovers' 18-year-old goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant on a one-month loan.
Bayleigh therefore comes into the squad for Saturday's BetVictor Northern Premier League Division One North West opener at home to Pontefract Collieries.
The Liverpool-born player has been with the now English Football League One club throughout his youth career. He signed his first professional contract in May 2019.
He joined us midway through our pre-season programne and was quick to impress.
Although yet to make a first tram appearance for the Prenton Park club, he was on the bench for four cup-ties last season.
These included their home FA Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur.
He was likewise named as a substitute for the EFL Trophy games against Crewe Alexandra, Shrewbury Town and Manchester City U21s.
Linnets manager Michael Ellison said: 'Bayleigh came into our pre season friendly against FC Unitef and really impressed.
"He's a great shot stopper, has really good feet and has a really good head on his shoulders for a young lad.
"He's at the stage in his career, where needs first-team football and he will certainly get that at Runcorn.
"I've no doubt he's got a bright future ahead of him and I'm looking forward to working with him."
