Runcorn Linnets are pleased to announce that APEC Taxis will continue as our stadium sponsor for three more years.
APEC, based in Boston Avenue, Runcorn, are long-standing supporters of the club and have held naming rights for the Linnets' ground since August 2021.
On the expiry of their initial deal, the club invited tenders and despite interest and bids from other local companies, the Trust Board felt that APEC's offer fitted the bill - the two parties having shared values and an excellent working relationship.
Linnets operate as a Community Benefit Society and earlier this month, our contribution to the area was highly commended by Halton Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise at the Halton Business Awards.
APEC Taxis is likewise a community-orientated company - running promotions, seasonal events and competitions throughout the year, alongside its charity work.
The Linnets Stadium will continue to be known as APEC Taxis Stadium until August 2027.
Replacement sponsorship boards promoting Halton's biggest taxi service will appear at the stadium in Stockham Lane, Murdishaw.
The club will also:
Team up with APEC for club fundraising events
Work more closely on availability of taxis, when events are taking place at the stadium
Liaise with the stadium sponsor on community initiatives.
In early October, we will be holding a Linnets/APEC 10k Charity Walk from Canal Street, once home to predecessor club Runcorn AFC, to APEC Taxis Stadium.
Local good causes will benefit with full details to follow.
Paul Riley, RLFC Trust Board member and commercial manager, said: "I am delighted that APEC will be staying as our stadium sponsor for a further three years.
"A lot of their drivers attend our games and we know how much this new agreement will mean to their manager Dean Kennington and his team.
"We received a number of very strong tenders from other local companies, but the proposal from APEC was one that we felt was perfect for both parties.
"Moving forward, we'll be working closely together on a number of new initiatives and events."
Dean Kennington, manager at APEC Taxis, said: "We are delighted to be the stadium sponsor for another 3 years.
"Along with ourselves, the Linnets are a massive part of the local community and have been for many years.
"It is well known that we are a company owned by its drivers and operate on a non profit making basis.
"The Linnets is one of many things we are proud to support and it's done so solely with driver money as a collective.
"Our drivers love giving back and it's a sign of how grateful we are to our loyal customers old and new - because without them, we wouldn't be able to donate so much back in and around our local community.
"We wish our friends at the Linnets every success in the coming 3 seasons and look forward to our drivers getting up and supporting the team on match days."
