A team of club officials and fantastic volunteers were at the club for hours yesterday in an effort to clear the stadium pitch after this week's heavy snowfalls.
Despite some progress, we soon found ourselves fighting a losing battle with shifting the thick layer of snow.
Given the weather forecast for the next few days, it seems highly unlikely that Saturday's match against Wythenshawe Town will be on.
If it is postponed, we will have had three home league games in eleven weeks.
As a fans-run club without a major benefactor, we rely heavily on our matchday income - primarily from admission fees but also contributions from fundraising (half-time draw and Golden Goal), our licensed bar, clubhouse canteen and club shop.
The club does have additional revenue streams for club hire and pitch hire but given the weather and the time of year, this is heavily reduced.
We have planned and budgeted carefully and spent wisely during this tough period. However, our lack of home league matches is having a significant impact on club finances.
We are making every effort to get the Wythenshawe match played but to a great extent, it is in the lap of the weather gods.
Regardless of whether the match is on or off, we will be opening our doors on Saturday to thank our fans for their continued support and in an effort to keep funds ticking over.
We are, therefore, appealing for the support of our faithful fans to see us through this testing spell.
Additionally, if you are able to donate to support the club either today or at any time we have created a donation page, through the website of our our ticketing partner Kaizen. Please use the link below if you can - every little helps!
Keep an eye out for some further initiatives via email and on club social media channels.
