Former Accrington first teamer Leslie Adekoya joins brother Dean at Linnets from Rylands

Runcorn Linnets have captured Leslie Adekoya from Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division club Warrington Rylands 1906.

The elder brother of Dean, who is with us on a one-month loan from EFL Championship club Stoke City, Leslie is a 20-year-old 6ft 4in striker.

Joining Rylands in October 2024 from Accrington Stanley, he became one of manager Neil Reynolds's first signings.

Leslie made six appearances for the Warrington club, his two goals including a debut effort at home to Mickleover.

He had graduated from Accrington's youth system, in 2021-22 netting 20 goals in 28 matches for their Under 18s.

Having turned professional in July 2022, Leslie was in September of the same year loaned for a month to Witton Albion, appearing six times in league and cup for our NPL West neighbours.

On returning to Accrington, Leslie made his senior debut off the bench in an EFL League One defeat by Fleetwood Town on October 29th 2022.

He scored a late goal, again as a substitute, in a 3-1 loss to then Premier League side Leeds United in the fourth round of the 2022-23 FA Cup. Ten first-team outings that season were followed by eight more in 2023-24 after their relegation to League Two.

We wish Leslie every success in his time with us at APEC Taxis Stadium.
