Fourth-placed Runcorn Linnets Ladies still have the teams above them in their sights, despite being held 2-2 at home by third-placed Mossley Hill Women in North West Regional League Division One South.

Linnets remain three points adrift of Sunday's visitors but have played four games fewer while victories in two matches in hand on FC St Helens would take Runcorn to within three points of the runners-up position.

The top three each have a better goals difference than the Yellow & Greens.

The four goals shared at APEC Taxis Stadium all came in the first half with Lile Ashley and Mollie Bennett on target for the hosts.

Mia Howard and Khadeeja Rhoden netted for the Liverpool side.

Although disappointed to have dropped important points, Linnets Ladies kept themselves on top of the form table (based on performances over the last six games).

The weekend draw came on the back of five successive league victories for the team co-managed by Tom Dyson and Jack Slater.

Georgina Oxley's comeback was a further boost for Linnets.

The full back returned from a long-term injury as a substitute.

Linnets Ladies will be in home action again on Sunday, March 16th, welcoming bottom-placed Litherland REMYCA Women for a 2pm kick-off.
