Reece Daly arrives from Chester on loan

Runcorn Linnets are delighted to have signed Reece Daly on loan from Chester for the remainder of the season and he goes straight into the squad for today's Pitching In Northern Premier League West game against Stalybridge Celtic.

Reece is a 20-year-old midfieldman, who has made 10 National League North appearances this season under former Linnets boss Calum McIntyre.

The Liverpool-born player previously registered with us as cover at the end of 2021-22, Calum's final season as Runcorn manager, without making an appearance.

Son of former Runcorn AFC striker Steve, Reece starred against Linnets earlier this season for Witton Albion in their 4-0 home victory on August Bank Holiday.

He was recalled by Chester in October from a three-month loan after scoring seven goals in 18 Witton appearances, including a hat-trick in a 5-2 victory over Congleton Town at U Lock It Stadium.

Reece has been at Chester FC from the age of 16, signing his first senior deal in January 2023.

He impressed in their run to the second round proper of the 2022-23 FA Youth Cup, scoring five goals in seven games.

Reece made 19 appearances in 2023-24, his first full senior campaign, a strike against Peterborough Sports taking Chester's Goal of the Season award.

He also had a six-game loan spell with 1874 Northwich at the end of 2022-23.
