Ryan Gibson has further strengthened the club's contingent of local players by returning to Runcorn Linnets after an absence of more than three years.
He is our second Runcorn-based signing of the day.
The frontrunner returns to his home town club after featuring for Linnets in both the 2018-19 and 2019-20 campaigns, before making a shock move across the Mersey to join Widnes FC.
Ryan had originally arrived at Linnets from another of our neighbours, Helsby and swiftly gained popularity with the fans with his energy and pace.
But some eye-catching performances - including a MoM match display in the '19-20 derby at the DCBL Stadium - alerted the then Widnes manager and ex-Linnets favourite Kev Towey to make his move.
Since leaving in July 2020, Ryan has also appeared against us for City of Liverpool, under the management of ex-Linnets boss Michael Ellison.
Ryan scored the Purps' second goal in an exciting 3-3 draw when they visited in September 2021.
Having most recently been starring in local football with Halton Sports, he now resumes his Linnets career on 54 appearances with seven goals.
