Runcorn Linnets Under 21s men defeated visiting Huyton 4-0 in North West Development League Championship Division B today.
Callum Prince opened the scoring in the 23rd minute and added his second in the 59th after Lewis Crane (55 mins) had doubled the lead.
Scoring was completed by Josh Elverstone in the 68th minute.
A seventh win from 10 games leaves Linnets fourth in the table.
Victories from their three matches in hand would take the team to within three points of table-topping Northwich Victoria.
There was a 3-0 victory for Linnets Ladies at Wirral Phoenix with Beth Graham backing up Lile Ashley's earlier double.
Runcorn had led 1-0 at half-time. They lie fifth in North West Regional Women's League, having played fewer matches than all four teams above them.
